Smyle debuted Rox, a plant-based candy the brand bills as the first sweet designed to help protect teeth rather than damage them.
The move takes the oral-care company into functional confectionery, positioning Rox as a product for the hours between brushing rather than a treat to feel guilty about. It sells at £4.00 per tin in two flavours, Fresh Mint and Crazy Citrus.
How it works
Every meal, coffee and snack feeds bacteria in the mouth that convert sugar into acid, and once oral pH falls below 5.5, tooth enamel begins to dissolve. Saliva repairs the damage over time, but frequent snacking leaves enamel little chance to recover. Rox is designed to close that gap.

The formula rests on two ingredients: Xylitol and Arginine.
Xylitol, which the brand says makes up more than 99% of the candy, is a sugar alcohol that harmful bacteria such as Streptococcus mutans cannot metabolise, so they cannot produce acid from it. With regular use, Smyle says, the bacterial colony declines.
Arginine, an amino acid naturally present in saliva, is included to neutralise pH more quickly after eating than the 30-to-60-minute window the mouth would otherwise spend unprotected. Smyle sources its xylitol from Finnish birch and its citrus from Sicily, and says the product carries no added sugar and no microplastics.
Why it matters
Functional confectionery is one of the more active corners of the wellness market, with brands loading sweets, gums and mints with actives that promise a benefit beyond taste. Rox extends that logic into oral care, a category where between-meal protection has largely meant sugar-free gum.
Rox is available now in Fresh Mint and Crazy Citrus.
