Presto Coffee launched a £350k funding round to push forward its bid to premiumise the instant coffee market. The raise values the business at £4.5m.
James Hagerty founded Presto in 2018 as a direct-to-consumer business selling coffee beans, ground coffee and coffee bags, later supplying Amazon, wholesalers and foodservice.

The brand took off after it pivoted into the instant category with a "barista-quality" product made from premium Arabica beans.
Sustainability sits at the centre of the proposition. The coffee is Rainforest Alliance approved and the packaging is made from 100% recyclable cardboard, in line with the company's B Corp certification. Its board also includes Caffè Nero co-founder Pablo Ettinger and former Planet Organic boss Peter Marsh.
Presto's instant range launched in Waitrose in October 2025 and has since expanded rapidly across UK grocery. It now supplies more than 1,000 stores nationwide including Tesco, Morrisons, Ocado, Booths, Holland & Barrett and Co-op, and has rolled out across almost 500 Sprouts locations in the US.
Sales are forecast to reach £1.1m in 2026 and £2.1m in 2027. Proceeds from the round will fund stock, production scaling, packaging and format development, and marketing to support the expansion.
The campaign is live now on Crowdcube.
