Rude Health has added what it says is the UK's first organic coconut barista drink to its range, chasing two trends at once: rising coconut demand and the boom in barista-style plant milks. The 1L drink, made with real organic coconut, lands in Tesco, Waitrose and Amazon from 7 October at an RRP of £2.50.

The launch builds on momentum in the brand's coconut portfolio, which Rude Health says is up 17% year on year, with its Chilled Coconut with Calcium up 24%. The wider brand is growing 16%. It also taps a plant-based barista category the brand says is expanding 27.5% as shoppers recreate coffee-shop serves at home.
The drink is pitched on a short ingredient list, with no gums, additives, artificial flavourings or added sugar, and a foam suited to coffee and matcha. "It's proof you don't need a long ingredients list to deliver a brilliant barista experience," said UK country manager Sam Maguire.
