Pulse debuts its mindfulness ring

Pulse Mindfulness launched The Mindfulness Ring®.

The company is now shipping orders from storage facilities in the US and Europe, with 3–7 day delivery into most European markets, according to a founder statement.

The launch follows a 2024 Kickstarter campaign in which 202 backers pledged $27,381 to support the project.

Founder Johan Matton described the launch as "more than a product launch" and "the beginning of a different relationship with technology."

A wearable that deliberately doesn't track

Pulse is a smart ring that emits gentle haptic vibrations at user-defined intervals. The premise is that the ring pulls attention out of autopilot — prompting a breath, a posture check, or a few seconds of awareness — without ever producing a dashboard, a score, or a push notification on the user's phone.

The ring runs four modes via a companion app:

• Mindfulness Mode. The ring vibrates a handful of times a day to prompt a short pause.
• Focus Mode. Activated with a double tap, it vibrates every 10, 20, or 30 seconds — pitched at habits like slower eating, calmer speech, or reducing phone scrolling.
• Meditation Mode. Pulsating vibrations guide a silent, headphone-free meditation.
• Pulse Journeys™. Week-long programmes from external teachers that set custom vibration patterns.

Built by people who know the category

Pulse's credibility on that bet comes from who's behind it. CTO Tommy Pyykönen was a founding employee and former COO at Oura, the Finnish smart ring that effectively created the category. Hardware development has involved Haltian, the Oulu-based engineering firm that manufactured the Oura Ring Gen 2. Matton is joined by co-founder Rollo Shaw, and the team operates across New York, Stockholm and Berlin.
