New British running brand EDRA launches with kit engineered to get out of your way

EDRA, a new British running apparel brand built in Leeds, has gone live with its first full collection.

The brand is founded by Nathan Edmondson, a former professional cyclist turned competitive runner who has represented Great Britain in mountain running and won the Leeds Marathon. Its identity is rooted in the city: the name is drawn from the River Aire, which cuts through Leeds, and a line tracing the river's curve recurs as a signature mark across nearly every piece. The kit was developed with input from runners across the local road, trail and fell scene.

EDRA has launched a complete summer system it calls DROP 1, refined through several rounds of sampling with elite runners. The range spans a cotton tee, race singlet, technical tee, run sock, cap, split shorts and a half tight. Its centrepiece is the FLOATLITE™ Half Tight, built around the CONVEY™ carrying system to stow gels, a phone and keys for marathons and long efforts.

The collection is organised into three tiers:

  • FLOATLITE™ for lightweight race kit
  • CHANNEL™ for more durable everyday training wear
  • CONVEY™ for pieces designed around storage.

Prices span £15 to £75, pitched to keep the brand accessible rather than exclusive.

EDRA is available nationwide online, but its near-term focus is building a base among Leeds run clubs and races, with a wider national push planned for 2027.
