Online sellers across Europe have lost one of their most prominent spots in Google search. The organic product carousels that surfaced for shopping queries have all but disappeared across the European Economic Area, following a search redesign Google rolled out on 8 September to comply with the EU's Digital Markets Act.

Analytics platform Productrise, which tracks the blocks daily, reports drops of roughly 90 to 100% in Germany, France, Belgium, the Netherlands and Sweden, collapsing around 15 to 16 September. Non-EEA markets including the UK, US and Australia are unaffected.
In their place, EEA users now see a "Comparison Sites" unit listing third-party services, with Google itself as one option.
