Eka Ventures has closed its second fund at £80m ($170m). The London-based firm will continue investing at pre-seed and seed stage, writing cheques of around $2 million and leading or co-leading 90% of its deals, with six investments have already been made from Fund II.

Founded in 2018 by Camilla Dolan and Jon Coker, Eka backs UK consumer and technology companies across three themes: decarbonisation of major industries, preventative and inclusive healthcare, and improved access to essential products and services.
Who's backing the fund
Fund II's LP base includes the British Business Bank, which made a cornerstone commitment of £40 million — half the fund. Better Society Capital, Guy's & St Thomas' Foundation, the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation, and WRAP also contributed.
Eka Ventures' consumer portfolio
The portfolio includes several brands relevant to The Checkout's readership: Jude, the DTC bladder health brand that has raised $7 million and secured listings in Boots; hylo, the sustainable running shoe brand recently backed by Andy Murray; and Ditto, a science-led menstrual health supplement that raised £1.35 million in pre-seed funding.
