Eighteen UK businesses have become the first to certify under B Lab's overhauled B Corp standards, and consumer brands dominate the list. Mulberry, Huel, Lily's Kitchen, Fussy, Pip & Nut, Medik8, Vivobarefoot, Finisterre and Belvoir Farm Drinks are among those clearing the higher bar, spanning food and drink, beauty, fashion, footwear and pet food.

Published in April 2025, the new standards scrap the old pick-your-focus scorecard: every B Corp must now meet minimum requirements across seven impact areas, from climate action and fair work to environmental stewardship and circularity, with independent verification and mandatory progress checks at three and five years. Certification becomes an ongoing commitment rather than a one-off badge.
For consumer brands, the timing is pointed. As scrutiny of sustainability claims intensifies, and with EU and UK rules tightening around greenwashing, a tougher, evidence-based certification offers a credible way to stand behind green credentials. The UK B Corp community has now passed 3,000 companies, a decade after 62 founders launched the movement.
